Windows 7 Installation Problems – System Crashes
System crashes have been reported frequently during the installation of Windows 7 operating system. However, the crash or the blue screen of death (BSOD) itself can be attributed to a range of reasons from hard disk problems to other incompatible software that gets loaded on system startup.

Other random crashes have been encountered on launching specific software applications and programs such as the Internet Explorer or Visual Studio.
Even the use of Windows Update or software installation using the Windows Installer, any third-party MSI-based installer or Windows Explorer has been known to trigger a blue screen. This particular crash is caused by a setting in the Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) client from Microsoft. In case you face this problem, look up the Microsoft site for a fix that will update your registry settings to prevent further crashes. The script fix seems to temporarily disable customer feedback though! The CEIP problem has been corrected subsequently.
Finally, check if the Antivirus program you are using offers support for Windows 7. Antivirus/Spyware programs load up along with the operating system and, unless compatible, may be the cause of a BSOD.
If you still encounter problems with Windows 7 installation, try to install / uninstall programs in the safe mode and then troubleshoot the issues.
I successfully installed Windows 7 64-bit RC today. However, I have a problem.
