Here’s one more error that is associated with the Windows 7 Backup process – error message that the file system structure is corrupt and asks you to check the disk. Users have reported that running “chkdsk.exe”, or deactivating “write cache buffer flushing” did not seem to have any effect on the process.
Although the error code is different this time, running through all the earlier steps pertaining to Windows 7 Backup Error may help resolve the problem.
Start from the chipset, check if Windows 7 compatible and/or has the latest driver update. Check if the drivers corresponding to your storage disks (SATA) are also up to date. Finally check if the BIOS has been upgraded.
With all the driver updates in place, now check for sufficient disk space in the back up path. We’ve seen earlier that backup package is created in a temporary folder and copied from there to the destination location.
Check for scans and other scheduled tasks that access the files at the same time as the backup process and reschedule such tasks.
Then move on to your antivirus program and look for any settings that might prevent the backup from running normally. Upgrade to Windows 7 compatible antivirus versions or switch to Microsoft Security Essentials to avoid such problems.
If you still encounter the problem, check the power options. Configuring the “high performance plan settings” with default values seems to rectify the event id 55 NTFS error.

I am new to this and have to present this project which falls into my dept. I am going to upgrade 350 users from Windows XP to Windows7 (and their applications and files/folders etc) There is a lot of information out there which sometimes can be confusing for a person like myself with lack of deployment experience. If someone out there can give me steps by steps what excatly I need to perform this task I would be very thankful and greatful to the human being. Please send me steps to download tools and steps to deploy. Thanks
